Invisalign is the way to straighten teeth using a series of computer generated, virtually undetectable aligners.
Why Invisalign?
Invisalign is the clinically effective, nearly invisible way to straighten your teeth without metal braces – straighten your teeth without anyone noticing. Treatment plans can be visualised through the Clincheck software. Aligners allow for normal brushing and flossing tasks which are normally impaired by conventional braces. The wearing of aligners may improve oral hygiene habits during treatment as they are removed for eating. Most Invisalign patients notice improved periodontal (gum) health during treatment.
How does Invisalign Work?
Upon approval of your ClinCheck treatment plan by Dr Cunningham, Align will produce and ship a series of customised aligners made specifically for you to your doctor. The total number of aligners varies from person to person depending on the complexity of your treatment and your doctor’s treatment plan. The aligners will be individually numbered and will be dispensed to you by Dr Cunningham with specific instructions for use. The aligners should be worn for 22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, brush and floss. You will switch to the next aligner in the series every two weeks or as directed by Dr Cunningham. Treatment duration varies as already mentioned but once Dr Cunningham receives your approved Clincheck, he will be able to give you a guide on the length of your treatment. After your initial appointment with Dr Cunningham, it is vital that you attend the surgery at a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks. Some patients may also require bonded aesthetic attachments during treatment to facilitate specific orthodontic movements. If required, they are placed on the surface of certain teeth. These are tooth coloured and are removed once the treatment is completed. Once given your aligners Dr Cunningham will go through a list of instructions to ensure you get the best possible results and will monitor your treatment over your appointments.
